When a pregnant woman contarcts the Zika virus, it can lead to a severe case of microcephaly which is a birth defect evident by an unusual small head size and can cause developmental problems in babies. According to the World Health Organization, there's strong scientific proof that this virus can as well cause Guillain-Barre, a rare neurological syndrome marked by temporal paralysis in adults.
