SICK OF VALENTINE?

As much as most of us are in sync with the season of showering love and affection to both friends, strangers, families and even enemies, not everyone is involved with the Valentine festivities. Some countries in the world have gone out of their way to see that this day of gift sharing and love expressing is not celebrated in their regions. So if you're one of those who's probably 'fed up' with the strong smell of freshly baked snacks, cookies, chocolate, and red colored images, clothes and accessories associated with this season, then take a hitch-hike,a flight or a ride to one of the following countries below.

INDONESIA- Love signs, like balloons, pictures and papers that depict Valentine, sweet smelling foods and red color apparels  have been banned by Indonesia Muslim Clerics. Yet, many youths in the country defy the ban by staging protests against it.

RUSSIA- In 2011, the governor of Belgorod Province banned celebrations Valentine. According to authorities, it is a means to preserve and protect 'spiritual security.'

MALAYSIA- In a country where 60% of its population are Muslims you wouldn't expect any less right? This country abhors Val so much so that sometime in 2012, police men actually busted hotels, arresting supposed val lovers. Lol.

IRAN- Valentine celebration was banned in Iran in 2011. No pictorial images of half shaped hearts or full hearts or cookies, chocolates, red roses, hugging or any form of affectionate demonstrations are  allowed and defaulting could lead to serious prison sentences, heavy fines or more.

SAUDI ARABIA- In this country, the heavy ban placed by conservative officials on Val's day has lead to all Val's products being sold in black market.

So, Still searching for that quiet place where you can have the peace of a very normal day(whatever that means to you) where no Val's day exists?
