Has Julius Lost It?
Charly Boy, one of |Nigeria's House Hold names in the entertainment industry, has written a letter in response to LIFE AS I SEE IT event put together by one of Nigeria's known comedian, Julius Agwu. Looks like our man didn't bring it this time! Well, here's what Charly thinks...
"Julius Agwu is my friend and a brother, one of the many comedians I have encouraged in their careers through the years. When I lost my buddy, my father, he was there to give me all the moral support I needed. I love Julius as much as some great Nigerian comedians, artistes and actors that have passed through the University of CharlyBoyism, who are now doing pretty well in their respective fields.
I was at my guy’s LIFE AS I SEE IT show with my family at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja on February 14, 2016.
Mehnnnn, was I bored to tears!!!
First of all, the show that was billed to start at 4pm didn’t start till around 8.30pm, and wouldn’t you expect that such a show already starting so late would compensate the audience by blowing off the roof with powerful rib-crackers back to back? For where!
I wasn’t sure whether we were at a musical/comedy show or in a pentecostal revival ground.
We had trickles of respite when other artistes did their thing but each time Julius came up, it was like he was on a mission to convert us sinners in the hall. He kept preaching, oblivious of many people’s disapproval, boredom and disgust for turning a comedy show into a sermonized gospel rant and chant. Kai!
I understand what my brother must have gone through when he had to be flown abroad for his brain surgery. As he told me before the show started, “Charly, I almost died, I was actually being wheeled to the mortuary before God’s intervention”. I am sure all that incident must have been very traumatic for my dear friend who felt he had to give thanks to the Lord for keeping him alive. Yes o, I agree, we all need to constantly do that because without God’s grace and mercy, who for dey alive? So praise The Lord…Halleluyah!!!!

SICK OF VALENTINE?
As much as most of us are in sync with the season of showering love and affection to both friends, strangers, families and even enemies, not everyone is involved with the Valentine festivities. Some countries in the world have gone out of their way to see that this day of gift sharing and love expressing is not celebrated in their regions. So if you're one of those who's probably 'fed up' with the strong smell of freshly baked snacks, cookies, chocolate, and red colored images, clothes and accessories associated with this season, then take a hitch-hike,a flight or a ride to one of the following countries below.
INDONESIA- Love signs, like balloons, pictures and papers that depict Valentine, sweet smelling foods and red color apparels have been banned by Indonesia Muslim Clerics. Yet, many youths in the country defy the ban by staging protests against it.
RUSSIA- In 2011, the governor of Belgorod Province banned celebrations Valentine. According to authorities, it is a means to preserve and protect 'spiritual security.'
MALAYSIA- In a country where 60% of its population are Muslims you wouldn't expect any less right? This country abhors Val so much so that sometime in 2012, police men actually busted hotels, arresting supposed val lovers. Lol.
IRAN- Valentine celebration was banned in Iran in 2011. No pictorial images of half shaped hearts or full hearts or cookies, chocolates, red roses, hugging or any form of affectionate demonstrations are allowed and defaulting could lead to serious prison sentences, heavy fines or more.
SAUDI ARABIA- In this country, the heavy ban placed by conservative officials on Val's day has lead to all Val's products being sold in black market.
So, Still searching for that quiet place where you can have the peace of a very normal day(whatever that means to you) where no Val's day exists?

Good Evening Ladies.
No, this is not a hair post but I feel a need to open our minds a bit.I overheard this conversation; "Buyer: You don't have any cream that can just, you know, brighten me small? Seller: But ma your black no dirty o. Buyer:Ah,please my boyfriend likes fair sisi." Why? Why do we have to fit into another person's standard? Aren't we created to achieve?to be ambitious?to fulfil a purpose? Why throw it all away, live less, think and spend less on ourselves because we fear that if we live lavishly or if we achieve too much we stand no chance of getting married? That is BACKWARD! Bash me all you will but I say authoritatively, marriage is not an achievement, it is a choice. Yes, it has its own blessings, but if you are not ready physically, spiritually and emotionally, STAY AWAY! For my married women and mothers,I speak not because I know too much but I learn from the experiences of people.Domestic violence and verbal abuse doesn't start in one day.you must see signs,I mean what happened during your courtship?some women get hit by their fiances and still go ahead to marry him! You made your choice. Being single is not a curse! Be who you're created to be.It is bad enough that we try hard to be equal with men.No.How many men can do half the things we do? If you don’t like being a doormat then get off the floor.Define your relationship and stand by it. We don't talk. That’s why we don’t get what we want. People think at the end of the day that a man is the only answer. Actually a job is better for me. I believe in strong women. I believe in the woman who is able to stand up for herself. I believe in the woman who doesn't need to hide behind her husband's back. I believe that if you have problems, as a woman you deal with them, you don't play victim, you don't make yourself look pitiful, you don't point fingers. You stand and you deal. A strong woman builds her own world. She is one who is wise enough to know that it will attract the man she will gladly share it with. I’ve often thought it unfair that women are expected to stay at home when there’s a fight to be won. If a woman has the strength to bear a child, she can swing a sword as well as any man.A man that cannot add value to your life should not interrupt your greatness. The day you say "f* #k it!" and let go of that pointless person you've been holding on to is the day life gets better.A busy, goal oriented woman is much more attractive than a woman who waits on a man to validate her existence.Drink water, take care of your vagina, stay moisturized, love yourself and sit on your throne like a Black Queen that you are.

What you need to know about the Zika Virus/
You'll probably be hearing about this more frequently in the coming months. Below are symptoms, diagnosis of the deadly Zika virus. More info coming soon.
Symptoms
- About 1 in 5 people infected with Zika virus become ill (i.e., develop Zika).
- The most common symptoms of Zika are fever, rash, joint pain, or conjunctivitis (red eyes). Other common symptoms include muscle pain and headache. The incubation period (the time from exposure to symptoms) for Zika virus disease is not known, but is likely to be a few days to a week.
- The illness is usually mild with symptoms lasting for several days to a week.
- People usually don’t get sick enough to go to the hospital, and they very rarely die of Zika.
- Zika virus usually remains in the blood of an infected person for about a week but it can be found longer in some people.
Diagnosis
- The symptoms of Zika are similar to those of dengue and chikungunya, diseases spread through the same mosquitoes that transmit Zika.
- See your healthcare provider if you develop the symptoms described above and have visited an area where Zika is found.
- If you have recently traveled, tell your healthcare provider when and where you traveled.
- Your healthcare provider may order specialized blood tests to look for Zika or other similar viruses like dengue or chikungunya.
Treatment
- There is no vaccine to prevent or specific medicine to treat Zika infections.
- Treat the symptoms:
- Get plenty of rest.
- Drink fluids to prevent dehydration.
- Take medicine such as acetaminophen (Tylenol®) to relieve fever and pain.
- Do not take aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
- If you are taking medicine for another medical condition, talk to your healthcare provider before taking additional medication.
- If you have Zika, prevent mosquito bites for the first week of your illness.
- During the first week of infection, Zika virus can be found in the blood and passed from an infected person to a mosquito through mosquito bites.
- An infected mosquito can then spread the virus to other people.

Is Marriage Really a Barrier to Success?
The writer of a post i read somewhere about successful women opined that to get to a certain level of career success as a woman, you need not be married. I.E, you need not even have a relationship with the opposite sex that could lead to anything. A list of some renowned successful ladies were given as proof. I do not quite agree with this and i'm thinking maybe this is obtainable only in third world countries (or not). I want to know what you think. Is marriage really a barrier for you that's a career person or an aspiring career person? would you rather be married than to be globally recognized based on your success? Or do thing both can be carried? Let me know what you think.
